In today’s world, the role of a pharmacist is rapidly changing. In addition to preparing and dispensing medicine, pharmacists increasingly take the lead on problem-solving health-epidemics, and on direct patient care. If you are interested in a future career as a pharmacist (or in biomedical science, immunology research, etc.), exposure to the factors covered in this course will more than prepare you for your next steps. You will conduct lab experiments, predict the effects of drug interactions on a robotic “dummy” and explore other fascinating topics with University of Rhode Island professors, students and practitioners. Learn the basics in the state-of-the-art URI School of Pharmacy and gardens, visit important local companies like CVS and Amgen,and make important connections for your future career.
